Photography

I started photography with the intention of using my photos as reference for my oil paintings and also as a resource for my graphic design business. It has also become another artistic medium I enjoy. Here you will find some of my photos that I like in particular.

My Equipment

I currently shoot with a Nikon d60 and it’s been a great camera to learn on. Not too big or heavy for my hands, a more reasonable investment and plenty of bells and whistles. I also have an 18 – 55mm and 55 – 200mm kit lens, a 50mm prime and a Tamron 70-300mm lens. Yes, the brand makes a different. While the Tamrom is certainly worth the cheap price if you just plain want the length, know that it is not a great wildlife lens because it’s focusing engine is pretty poor, so if you need to shoot anything moving you are going to miss it. If you want the length and you have the time to wait, it’s a great lens at a great price. On the other hand, I love both kit lenses and my 55mm prime. They’re light, they focus fast and they take great photos.
